Easy Mode Training

"Easy Mode" Training

One of the design decisions in the lighting, audio, and video design of the auditorium was to allow operation of these systems in a simplified manner that can cover many types of events. This means using the touch screens positioned in a few places throughout the auditorium.

Lights

There are two touch screens on either side of the stage that can do a lot of light control without needing to go back in the light booth to use the Element board (which shouldn’t be used without prior training and discussion). These touch screens have a number of tabs at the top that navigate between different parts of the controls. The two tabs that you’d probably need to interact with are labelled Houselights and Worklights.

Sound

The sound system is actually equipped with two modes, a ‘Pro Mode’ and an ‘Easy Mode’ that actually don’t work together. Like the light controls, there’s a touch screen on either side of the stage that only control the Easy Mode of the sound system. There's also a touch screen control on the left side of the sound booth that can do easy mode or pro mode. Pro mode or operation of the DigiCo board shouldn't be done without prior training and discussion.

In Easy Mode there are a limited number of devices that are enabled, but these devices are exclusively usable in Easy Mode (i.e. these devices can not be controlled or accessed when the system is out of Easy Mode – no customization or control would be available on the board even if we wanted to.)

These devices are:

  • “EZ HH” Handheld Mic (SM Beta 58A)

    • Labelled as “WRLS HH” on the touchscreen
  • Lavalier Mic…

    • Labelled as “WRLS LAV” on the touchscreen
  • “Easy Mic 1” for a corded microphone on the … wallplate input

  • “Easy Mic 2” for a corded microphone on the … wallplate input

  • … Inputs on Left Wallplate

  • … Inputs on Right Wallplate

  • “PJ Audio” for any audio that is being routed to the projector (see ‘Video Selection’ tab for control over what is being routed to the projector)

  • Audio mix is the main thing

  • Record mix is only for use with the recorder. Good chance if you’re using the recorder, we’re doing it for you

  • Device control and video selection should really only come up for video usage

  • Top of touch screen is paging mic (leave on not muted, won’t need)

  • Assisted listening settings

Video

  • Video selection on the sound touch screens to just choose input and mute/unmute that input
  • Blu-ray control
  • Projector control
  • No need for camera control
